How do I join the team?
First, apply to join on our Tech Connect profile. You would also need to attend one of our general meetings. If you are unable to do so, please contact us to start getting involved!
After that, pay dues to our . In a few days, you will be added to our Microsoft Teams where you can see all the inner workings of the team.
Where can I attend general team meetings?
Our general meetings are hosted in person at the Mechanical Engineering North or South Building (unless specified) and members will have the opportunity to interact with any announcements from our team. You can become a perspective member on our Tech Connect or pay your dues to officially join on our Microsoft Teams to receive access to these meetings and weekly updates. Follow the instagram for weekly information on these team meetings and other content as well @redraiderracing
What does Red Raider Racing look like this 2024-2025 school year?
This year is new and exciting as our Red Raider Racing FSAE Team has switched to EV. This season we will need to put lots of focus and dedication into our car and we have just the team to do that. We will also continually work with sponsors to receive the most support possible to help us get to our competition in Michigan again this year. We have a long list of projects to do throughout the entire organization so if you are interested in joining the team and want to be involved, please join on Tech Connect or reach out to our email, formula.sae@ttu.edu.
I have no experience, can I still join?
Absolutely! Red Raider Racing welcomes all levels of experience. Our team takes pride in its ability to develop professionals across all fields, and will take you through the process of learning new skills and becoming an experienced team member. The only requirements are commitment and passion! :)
Do I have to be a S.T.E.M. major?
No, all majors are welcome to join this organization! We welcome knowledge from interested students with different backgrounds than just S.T.E.M. to complete our team for necessary project execution! Our admin team makes huge contributions as well as all of our engineers! Reach out to us and learn how you can apply your education and material to real-world applications!
Is team merchandise included with membership fee?
No, we do not supply any team apparel or merchandise along with membership fees. These are separate purchases.
What is Formula SAE?
The SAE International Formula program is an engineering design and business evaluation competition for undergraduate and graduate students. The competition provides participants with the opportunity to enhance their engineering design and project management skills by applying learned classroom theories in a challenging competition. The engineering design goal for teams is to develop and construct a single-seat race car for the non-profession weekend autocross racer with the best overall package of design, construction, performance, and cost. What does the Michigan competition provide to you?
This can reveal potential career paths to explore, like meeting recruiters from Tesla, SpaceX, General Motors, and more! FSAE will help you make connections and provide you with internship opportunities! This also provides a chance to build and increase your resume or portfolio for your future applications.
How do I become an official member?
To become an official member of Red Raider Racing, you should follow this order of events. By showing up to the appropriate meetings, paying your dues through our PayPal, get added to our Microsoft Teams, and then be actively working with the team on the car or through the business aspect.
